Team Minutes

9/15/2011- (Sarah Recorder) (Danielle- Leader) Tonight we met for the first time in class to discuss the PBL. We all exchanged names and email address and talked about the framework for completion of this project. There were concerns from some team members regarding the assignment details. We decided to spend time this week going over the assignment as well as re-reading the project in the book. We hope to complete a task list as well as begin answering the questions in the chapter as well. We are all excited to get the project going and hope to be the first group to present our project in the class.

9/29/2011-(Danielle Recorder) (Caren- Leader) Tonight we are coming to a consensus on what the problem is. We are reviewing our post and collaborating on the final wording of what our problem is.
There seems to be a divide among all school members, when in actuality, the principal brought all members together hoping to create one vision and one common goal for the school, while bringing in the newest technologies and advances.
Problem statement: There is a divide among school staff members.

Our team will research ideas for collaborative opportunities for staff members to work together. Team will research professional development opportunities. We will research case studies revoloving around collaboration (similar situations as this school). Research team building strategies (ex. Kagan) - how it impacts adults versus children.
Redefining the school's vision will be an important part of the schools reform.
School support and hiring staff will be an important aspects, as well as evaluation tools for the staff members.

10/20/11 (Michelle-Recorder Jane-Leader) Tonight we are discussing how we should go about completing the rest of our PBL

10/27/11 (Sarah Leader) (Samantha- recorder)
As a group we decided that presenting our PBL only worked on December 1 as two of our members were unavailable for the other date. We decided that we would write summaries of our topics and post on the Wiki. We are aiming for completion of the slide show and paper draft for Nov. 8 so that we have a week to work on final touch ups before the presentation. There was some confusion regarding the wiki and how we can really work together on it but everyone is going to make a concerted effort to post summaries on their own page.

11/3/11: (Samantha Leader) (Jane-recorder):
We met after class to discuss posting references and reflections on the Research Findings page. We also discussed meeting next Monday to finalize paper and work on the power point presentation. As reminded in class, we need to make sure we are reviewing all the research and working cohesively to find solutions that would be effective at Hickory Ridge High School. Not only should we post the articles that we are using, we must also remember to post the articles that will not be cited.

11/10/11 Michelle (Leader) Kim (Recorder)
We met and decided to meet on Monday, November 14th at 4:00pm at the FGCU library to review our powerpoint and revise/review our PBL paper together and review our APA format. We will go through the presentation and re-review the rubrics to assure that all key points are met. We will practice our presentation and go over timing. We also discussed activities for the PBL presentation and decided upon which activity we would do with the rest of the class during our presentation.

Kim (Leader) Caren(Reporter)
We met as a group to pull together our Powerpoint slides, edit, and revise our group paper. As a group we reviewed key points we would like to mention during our group presentation. Each member provided insight as to what points she felt were critical to expressing our viewpoints about the reform at hickory ridge. We also worked on our APA citation both throughout our paper and the reference page.
